This collection investigates the conflation of self-actualisation and self-commodification within the identity of ‘The Creative’. By framing creativity as inherently self-expressive, personal identity becomes something to be broken down and repackaged as a marketable commodity. In idealising this depiction of creativity, the creative process ultimately feeds the ideological reproduction of neoliberal capitalism.
