Jas Sabrine is a multidisciplinary artist whose creative practice explores decolonisation and indigenisation within the fine art space through photography and installation. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural and photographic histories of the Philippine archipelago, Jas’s practice is dedicated to reclaiming cultural identity, self-determination, and representation for the Filipino diaspora community in Aotearoa. Their ongoing body of work 'ang gumagalaw na palaso ay nakapahinga (a moving arrow is at rest)' documents how their community expresses cultural heritage through clothing.
