Jessi Papworth

My project adopts an auto-ethnographic and holistic approach; drawing inspiration from the traditions and beliefs of my Celtic ancestors. I weave historical symbols into contemporary forms, exploring the complexities of identity and what it means to live on colonised land as Pākehā. My main inspirations I draw from is my whakapapa, mysticism, and the intersectionality of all life in nature. My project aims to open a portal to eternity; to create a dialogue between the past, present, and future — my love letter to the universe.
