My work features quiet depictions of interiors that evoke uncertainty and ambiguity. I explore my family's historical and contemporary position in Aotearoa, questioning how their presence has impacted indigenous communities. Through my paintings, I focus on objects that belonged to my ancestors or are located at ancestral sites, analysing how colonial narratives manifest in both overt and subtle ways. This approach aims to acknowledge the histories of those who came before my family.
