Charlie Morton

Quadaural is a 30-minute surround sound composition for four speakers, listened to in darkness. The installation aims to challenge the general listener's perception of how sound is decoded by our ears, and the illusory effects that occur when a familiar sound is consistent in one ear, but manipulated in another. The three-movement piece explores ambient minimalism, processed percussion, and repetitive polyphony.
