These paintings investigate digital imagery. I aim to replicate the barrage of bizarre, seamy, low-quality images that we're exposed to in digital spaces. Using imagery appropriated from Temu and Instagram, I examine the personalised algorithms that we generate as we engage with the internet. We feed these algorithms, and in turn create a distorted self-portrait: the user profile, a treasure trove of intel sold to advertisers and sketchy third parties. Who is the beneficiary of the Sludge Algorithm?
