From Placelessness to Placefulness: Textile Designs that Transform Paediatric Hospital Spaces uses textiles to transform paediatric hospital spaces, easing stress and countering ‘placelessness’ for children throughout hospital stays. Drawing on Moore’s concepts of Stress, Fit, and Place, it incorporates biophilic principles and storytelling devices that create a positive distraction to foster comfort and connection. Disrupting sterile rhythms through light, material and colour, this design aims to create a nurturing environment that promotes a sense of belonging for patients, families, and staff.
