Women’s Work is a series of embroidery illustrations celebrating women’s often overlooked and minimised contributions to creative fields. The work tells the stories of the goddess Ariadne and my grandmother, a potter named Claire Bunby. My aim was to highlight traditionally feminine art practices. To celebrate the contributions of women to the art world. To articulate the experiences of women in creative fields. And to interrogate beliefs around crafts vs. real art.
