Ko Tāku Tūraka e’ is an evocative, illustrated journey through three South Canterbury and North Otago landscapes, exploring layers of time, formation, and history. Using traditional and digital media, with kōhatu (stone) as a central motif, this pukapuka reflects a step toward understanding my cultural identity and tūrakawaewae—my standing place. The title, meaning ‘Up to the sky, down to the earth, this is where I stand’, encapsulates this journey. I hope it resonates with others reconnecting with their roots and inspires reflection on whakapapa and the rich taiao around us.
